Aug. 23- City High Schools
Two city high schools, Charlotte and Thomas Jefferson High School, have been placed on the "persistently dangerous" list by the State Education Department on Tuesday, August 22nd. The reason for such action is due to the number of violent incidents that have occurred during the school year. The law requires that the students who attend these schools be allowed to transfer to other schools in the district while the schools develop violence-reduction plans. After this is done, the schools can petition to be removed from the list, but till then, both schools may witness a decrease in the number of enrolled students.
